Medicine Balls Do the Body Good

Neither of us would bill ourselves as a serious runner. While we do enjoy a good 5K, or lacing up and clearing our minds on an open trail, it’s not our first choice when it comes cardo. Neither is the stair climber, elliptical or assault bike. There are plenty of other ways to get our heart rate up and burn fat.

If you are looking for a few ways to accelerate your heart rate while it keeping it cool and cute indoors as the weather heats up, grab a medicine ball. Medicine balls are a powerhouse tool because they test your reactive strengths, while working on cardiovascular endurance, muscle mass, and hand eye coordination

While go-to exercises like squats and deadlifts can pack a one-two punch by helping strengthen the core and build muscles in the leg and back, medicine ball exercise variations can be done in a variety of angles and positions including to the side, the front or even in an arcing pattern. Your abs, oblique and posterior muscles will work together through a full range of motions that can boost overall stability.
