Goal: Arms Like Angela Bassett

Hey everybody, you good?

Let’s face it, channeling Angela Bassett is never a bad idea. This is especially true when it comes to those arms of hers! The truth is, most women would rather spend all day squatting, lunging, and jumping than mastering push- and pull-ups.

Studies show women tend to match men in lower body strength more often than upper body. However, building a strong upper body has many long-term, functional benefits. A strong upper body contributes to better posture and balance. And of course, focusing on upper body just as much as lower helps with overall muscle development and weight loss.

If Angela Basset arms are your goal, give the below workout a try this week. Grab a pair of dumbbells that are a slight struggle for you (think a medium load). We suggest starting at about eight-pound weights for beginners, 12-pounds for more experienced gym goers, and 15 pounds if you are a pro for the first three exercises.
